Had a great troop and snoop on Friday. It was great to exchange ideas and try to
pick up pointers from one another. Had a blast, blasting off toons at Gina's
later as well. Thanks Gina and all those who participated.
Or next meeting
is on the 25th
of October at my house at 11440 -234a st Maple Ridge and my phone
no is 604-463-9643. It will be a regular meeting and
pot luck. I will be giving receipts out at that time for membership and for the
recent field trip. Also the 2014 BCFCCA
calendars are available at a cost of
$17 until the 2nd. Of October and then they will be $20. They are a
great recourse for attendance, budget, and many more things. Please renew your
BCFCCA membership if you have not and let me know so that I can keep you on the
membership list for North Fraser.
The fish hatchery was a great field trip.
The kids loved it. October is going to be the Pumpkin Patch and a few seniors
centres for Halloween. I have had a few responses for both so let me know if you
are interested. Dates are still to be determined but the big seniors visit is on
the 31st at10 a.m. At the Maple Ridge retirement centre on 119 th avenue just
off of 222 Nd. We will be giving out Halloween cards and singing some familiar
songs. Dress the kids and you up and come for some good fun. Call me if you want
to know what songs or if you have some you would like to add.
Our November
meeting is going to be a bit special. We are having our Mexican night on the
22nd
of November. It will be nutrition with Patricia so please
encourage others to come. It is open for others and should be a lot of fun. The
cost will be $5 and we are working on a location. We will be entertained by a
lovely Mexican dancer and learn how to make some nutritious Mexican food.
It
looks like December is going to be a big craft night and a very short meeting
hopefully with BCFCCA updates. I am going to be compiling the phone list soon to
send to the BCFCCA for review and then off the the city for consideration. There
are still more big centres coming to town.
We really are going to need to
come together for support more then ever. The NFCCA add for the paper is being
seriously considered for soon. I hope you are all willing to hand out the
Purdy's catalogues. Just pass them to parents and friends and let us do the work
afterwords. This is an easy and very effective fund raiser and is going to
families in need for Christmas.
We raised $60 so far for a family who's home
was destroyed in a fire that was probably arson. The fund raiser was sponsored
by Surekha Meeden who some of you may know as a group or private music teacher.
If you have any bottles, please take them to the bottle depot on 207th where
there is an account. You can tell them who the sponsor is and what it is for. I
put the family name in a previous email. Thanks to those who have already helped
this family.
We strive to continuously Learn and give in return ways
to sustain FAMILY DAYCARE and in home group centres as the best possible
choice for parents and children. Let's stand together.
